IAS Vishram Kumar Meena, is a 2017 batch officer of Haryana cadre and is currently posted as Deputy Commissioner of Kurukshetra.It is the land where the epic battle of the Mahabharata was fought, and where Lord Krishna imparted to Arjuna the profound philosophy of karma at Jyotisar.

Mentioned in the very first verse of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita as Dharmakshetra Kurukshetra, stands as one of India’s most sacred and historically rich regions.

For Meena,this legacy is both an inspiration and a responsibility.“Kurukshetra is a religious town , the cultural and spiritual heart of Haryana, already rich in tourism potential. But there’s still a lot of scope for further growth, and that’s where my focus lies” he says.Having recently taken charge,his vision is centered on enhancing spiritual and religious tourism while ensuring sustainable urban development.

Under his leadership,the district aims to strengthen its tourism infrastructure, improve facilities for pilgrims/visitors and enrich the overall tourist experience.Meena also emphasizes the importance of attracting major hospitality chains and making the city more investor friendly.
