70 IAS Officers Complete 'Karmayogi Kartavya' Programme
A special workshop under the 'Karmayogi Kartavya' programme was organized for 70 IAS officers to align the state's administrative system with future requirements. During the workshop, officers received training on behavioral competencies, work styles, the use of technology, and citizen-centric administration. All 70 participating officers successfully completed the four prescribed modules.
Addressing the workshop, Rajasthan Chief Secretary V Srinivas stated that the 'Karmayogi Kartavya' program is not limited to mere training; rather, it is a comprehensive initiative to prepare officers for the next generation of governance. Its objective is to build institutions that are more proactive, effective, and citizen-centric.
The programme placed special emphasis on transforming the work style of administrative officers. Key focus areas included evolving employees into 'Karmayogis' (dedicated public servants), transitioning civil servants from a role-based approach to a rule-based one, and adopting technology to drive workplace transformation.
The Chief Secretary noted that such programs inspire officers to engage with their work with greater depth and proactivity. Guidance from experienced officers instills positive energy in the participants and lays the foundation for an effective future governance system.
Shreya Guha, Director General of Harish Chandra Mathur Rajasthan State Institute of Public Administration (HCM-RIPA), stated that the workshop aimed to strengthen the officers' capabilities and prepare them for future administrative challenges. She remarked that such capacity-building programs play a crucial role in creating a future-ready and effective bureaucracy.
Chandralekha Mukherjee, Principal Advisor at the Government of India's Capacity Building Commission, said that the 'Karmayogi' programme, launched five years ago, is working to prepare officers to meet evolving and future administrative needs. The program emphasizes developing the necessary competencies, mindsets, and work styles among officers. She stated that the focus of the training is on understanding the changing needs of citizens, enhancing innovation and effectiveness in administration, and ensuring more responsive and citizen-centric governance.
