AICC election control room is without an office now
The Congress war room, which is also known as the AICC Election Control Room, loses its office. The office that allocates work to the party units and monitors their progress is now running from the homes of staff members’. The office has almost 50 staff, who are working under the supervision of Lok Sabha member Sasikanth Senthil.
Senthil happens to be a former IAS officer. The office was located at the residence of former Congress MP Shaktisinh Gohil, which had to be vacated following the expiry of his Rajya Sabha term. The war room came into existence before the 2004 polls and initially operated from 99, South Avenue, the residence of former Congress MP and industrialist R.P. Goenka. In 2006, the War Room was shifted to 15, Gurdwara Rakabganj Road, which was allotted to nominated MP Shobhana Bhartia. It remained there until 2024 and later the bungalow was allotted to former Congress MP Pradip Bhattacharya, whose term ended in 2023. For almost a year after that, the address of the War Room was Telangana Congress Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy’s residence at C, 1/10, Subramania Bharti Marg, which Reddy held long after vacating his Lok Sabha seat. Since early 2025, the war room has been functioning from 17 Gurdwara Rakabganj Road.
