Amit Shah prepares for reply in Parliament amid opposition heat over student protest violence

Ahead of a crucial intervention in Parliament’s ongoing Monsoon Session, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has reportedly convened late-night strategy and drafting sessions at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA). Sources close to the developments indicate that Shah is personally overseeing the framing of his speech, which aims to counter fierce allegations levelled by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. 

The political standoff intensifies as Gandhi continues to question the government over alleged police excesses and the deployment of force against student protesters across key institutions. The opposition’s sharp critique has turned student grievances and security protocols into a central debate point of the session. 

According to MoHA officials, Shah’s response will present a comprehensive, evidence-based narrative detailing law-and-order mandates, police operational protocols, and official timelines during the demonstrations. The Home Minister is expected to address points raised regarding security personnel conduct while forcefully repudiating claims of excessive force.
