CBI arrests 7 railway officers in alleged bribery cases

The CBI has arrested seven railway officers in three days- on Thursday, Friday and Sunday- in alleged bribery cases. Among them one Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer (DME), South East Central Railway (SECR), Bhilai. Other officials are- One Senior Section Engineer, SCR, Vijayawada, Assistant Financial Advisor, Sr. SO and Office Superintendent, NWR, Jaipur, Sr. Section Officer and Account Assistant, NWR, Bikaner. The agency has recovered large amounts of cash from them.

This extensive reassignment reflects the state government’s continuous effort to optimize police administration, optimize operational readiness, and strengthen district-level security architecture across Punjab. All transferred officers have been instructed to assume their new charges immediately.
