Delhi to enact 'Parivar Pehchan' law for unified family cards

The Delhi government is moving forward with plans to enact the 'Parivar Pehchan' legislation, aimed at introducing official 'family cards' across the capital. This legislative initiative seeks to establish a comprehensive, unified database of all families residing in Delhi to ensure that state welfare schemes and developmental programs directly reach eligible, genuine beneficiaries.

First announced in July, the unified family database initiative is designed to streamline administrative processes and eliminate duplicate or fraudulent welfare claims. Each family card will consolidate critical demographic and socio-economic information regarding the household.
