Govt debunks PSU-bank merger rumours

A widely circulated claim that SBI, PNB and Bank of Baroda would acquire or merge several smaller public-sector banks was identified as false; PIB reportedly debunked the message. There is continuing market speculation about future PSB consolidation, but no such merger order was announced.
