HSCL remains headless for six months, now; no new MD appointed yet
Hindustan Steelworks Construction Limited (HSCL) has been without a full-time Managing Director for the past six months, with the Centre yet to appoint a regular chief after the tenure of T. Lakshmi Narayan Reddy ended on January 31, 2026. Since February 1, 2026, the PSU has continued to function under an arrangement of additional charge, but no full-time Managing Director has been named.
The prolonged vacancy comes despite the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) initiating the selection process well in advance. The continued delay in appointing a regular head has raised concerns, as HSCL remains one of the key public sector construction enterprises under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
