Madhya Pradesh Showcases Its Rich Heritage on Global Stage at WTM London

Madhya Pradesh is showcasing its heritage, wildlife, spirituality and cultural experiences at the World Travel Market (WTM) 2026, being held at ExCeL London from November 3 to 5, to attract international tourists and strengthen global tourism partnerships.

The Madhya Pradesh Pavilion was inaugurated by Union Tourism and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Rajya Sabha MP and Infosys Foundation founder Sudha Murty. Additional Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, Dr. Abhay Arvind Bedekar, and other dignitaries were present.

The pavilion highlights UNESCO World Heritage Sites Khajuraho, Sanchi and Bhimbetka, wildlife destinations Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Pench, Panna and Satpura, and spiritual centres Ujjain, Omkareshwar, Maheshwar and Chitrakoot. Orchha, Mandu and Chanderi are being promoted for rural tourism, handicrafts and community-based experiences. A delegation led by Dr. Bedekar, along with 10 tourism stakeholders, is holding business meetings with international tour operators.

The Tourism Board, in association with Friends of Madhya Pradesh (FoMP), also organised 'Madhya Pradesh Chronicles – An Evening of Untold Narratives' on November 3 at Taj St. James' Court, London.

Dr. Bedekar presented the state's wildlife, heritage, cuisine and tribal traditions. Vidhi Beri of Art Ichol, Maihar, showcased traditional crafts, while BBC award-winning photographer Salil Tambe presented wildlife and travel photographs. Influencer Seema Anand attended the event, and Rohit Dixit moderated a discussion on tourism opportunities.

The initiative aims to attract international visitors, expand partnerships and promote Madhya Pradesh in global tourism markets.
