Parliamentary friction: SP and Congress split over Opposition strategy

As the Parliament session gets underway, strategic differences have emerged within the opposition alliance over their primary target against the ruling government. According to political sources, the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Congress party are not on the same page regarding the core agenda to be raised in the House. 

The Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party wants to front the Ram Mandir corruption issue. Aggressively raising allegations of embezzlement and donation theft in Ayodhya, SP leaders aim to corner both the central and Uttar Pradesh state governments over financial transparency and public faith. Conversely, Congress prefers a different tactical angle. The party leadership wants to focus its heavy artillery on Union Home Minister Amit Shah, specifically targeting him over the controversial use of pellet firing during recent student protests.

This rift highlights growing friction over legislative priorities. While the Samajwadi Party prioritizes local issues rooted in UP politics, Congress seeks to push central governance and law enforcement accountability to the fore. This divergence in strategy threatens to fragment a unified opposition strategy during critical parliamentary debates.
