PEOPLESPEAK 4: What keeps the “Highway Man of India” in the spotlight?

Even after the recent backlash and controversies, the Highway Man of India has managed to rule the hearts of people. Better highways, visible work and his simplicity emerged as the main reasons why respondents chose Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari among the best performing ministers in the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet in the Whispers survey.

Many of them appreciated the improvement in road infrastructure, pointing to the “tangible results” of his work and another described him as a “restless minister” who always wants to deliver beyond expectations.

Gadkari’s work also drew praise, appreciating his focus on getting projects completed, while others highlighted his connection with people at grassroots.
