The BSP has reportedly conveyed to the SP that it would contest 40 Lok Sabha seats in UP, leaving 30 for the SP and 10 for the Congress and others. A cause of worry for the BJP.

A new weekly Radio programme

AIR kick-starts a weekly Public Service Programme Series "Jan Sewa Samwad" with Smriti Irani, Minister of I&B featuring its first episode on April 14. It will be a Man Ki Baat for ministers ? 

LG's Pay and Allowances revised

The Union Cabinet has given its approval for revision of pay and allowances of Lieutenant Governors of Union Territories.  It will bring the pay and allowances of LGs at par with that of the Secretary to the Government of India with effect from 1st  January, 2016.

Dal-hit vs Dalit

Shopping for Tiles and I meet an old friend who is a Civil Engineer. We drop into a Coffee Shop just next door. Over Coffee and Muffins we get chatting.

Me: Tell me one thing can 11000 village toilets be made in 100 hours ..

Friend: Good you specified Gramin or Village Toilets...because the type of toilets we have in the Cities cost much more take more time to be made..yes can be achieved....Gramin toilets.. cemented floor walls and floors....no tiles ....I think if about 3000 Masons and 5000 strong labor force is put on the job... can be achieved. Why do you ask... have you got some contract..

M: Naaaa... actually in Gopalganj District in Bihar this record has been achieved and with this record Bihar has constructed 8.5 lac toilets..

F: Many toilets would not have sewer and water connections... the waste would go into the ground... and water is usually drawn from the Well and kept in drums outside for toilet application...including flushing and cleaning. So a toilet can be easily put up in the Gramin region in no time for about 15000 -18000.

M: Tejaswi and Gang not too happy..

F: Laloo's son... how can he be happy...... Laloo's in jail for a long haul ... Toilets will get Votes..especially from Women...

M: 8.5 lac toilets...ammount involved is huge... bahut loggo ke mooh mein paani aaya hogaa...and must be upset on this opprtunity lost...

F: In such a scenario... Bihar would have had a huge number of toilets only on paper....khoka toilets..

M: Mudhra Yojna ...I hear max beneficiaries are Women and Backward Communities. 

F: Yes Bhenji is for Dal-hit... meaning for the interests of her Party... Modi is interested in upliftment of Dalits...

M: Opposition now propped up a Lawyer to file a PIL on Roster responsibility of CJI..

F: Just read a tweet... and Court response is apt and just.... 'CJI first amongst equals and has authority on allocation of cases'...as this PIL pertains to the SC itself it was vital that CJI...... head of the Institution... headed the Bench that heard this petition...

M: CJI was doing what has been done by his predecessors and mandated by SC procedure... the 4 rebelling Judges had shown their bias in this matter and so could not be on this Bench...

F: Hear BJP led by Modi going on a fast on 12th against the Parliament logjam...

M: BJP will teach Congress what fasting means ...its sanctity....commitment of those fasting... not opportunity to hold Chola Bhatoora Parties before Fasting.

F: What can they do when the man at the helm is non-serious... he was supposed to reach the fasting site... Raj Ghat....at 11 am but he reached at 1 pm.

M: Must have been busy with Pidhi...or for all you know must have been having a sumptuous brunch... after all he would not eat for next few hours...

F: Actually... we are least bit concerned with what he eats or drinks... buss humaara dimaag khaana bandh karre with his idiocies..

We have a good laugh...pay the tab and move out.
