POWERGRID posts PAT of Rs 3,598 crore and Total Income of Rs 11,697 crore for Q1FY27

New Delhi: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a ‘Maharatna’ Company under the Ministry of Power, Govt. of India, has announced financial results for Q1FY27 ended 30 June 2026.

For Q1FY27, on a Standalone basis, the Company posted Profit After Tax (PAT) and Total Income of Rs 3,411 crore and Rs 11,370 crore, respectively. On a Consolidated basis, Profit After Tax and Total Income were Rs 3,598 crore and Rs 11,697 crore, respectively.

The Company incurred a Capital Expenditure of Rsprae 7,765 crore and capitalized assets worth Rs 5,277 crore (excluding FERV and including assets capitalized as finance lease) on a consolidated basis during Q1FY27. POWERGRID’s Gross Fixed Assets on a consolidated basis stood at Rs 3,25,671 crore (including Gross Lease Receivables) as on June 30, 2026.

At the end of Q1FY27, the total transmission assets of POWERGRID and its subsidiaries stood at 1,86,595 ckm of transmission lines, 291 substations, and 6,34,516 MVA of transformation capacity. POWERGRID maintained an average transmission system availability of 99.80% during Q1FY27.

During Q1FY27, POWERGRID secured a JPY 80 billion loan from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) to finance the landmark Khavda-Nagpur HVDC Transmission Project.

Further, under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding, POWERGRID emerged as the successful bidder in five transmission projects during Q1FY27, comprising three Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) projects and two Intra-State Transmission System (InSTS) projects.

During July ’26, POWERGRID also secured India’s first Synchronous Condenser scheme under TBCB, aimed at providing crucial support for the integration of renewable energy into the grid.
