Reshuffle of IPS officers in Maharashtra

Around one dozen IPS officers have been transferred and posted to different places in Maharashtra. Accordingly, Vivek Phansalkar has been appointed the new police commissioner of Thane while Param Bir Singh was shifted to state police headquarters as Additional Director General Law and Order and  Hemant Nagrale is ADG Equipment and Provisions, PHQ. Similarly, Sanjay Kumar has been appointed as police chief of Navi Mumbai; K Venkatesham as police commissioner of Pune; Rashmi Shukla as ADG of Highway Police; Bhushankumar Upadhyay as head the Nagpur Police; R K Padmanabhan, will head the newly-created Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionarate; Rajnish Sheth as ADG of Anti-Corruption Bureau; Sanjivkumar Singhal as ADG of CID and Amitabh Gupta has been named Principal Secretary (Special) in the home department.
