Special Director General in BSF will hold the post of regular DGP in Tripura?

The name of Puneet Rastogi, who is of 1995 batch and posted as Special Director General, Border Security Force has been widely discussed as the next regular DGP, Tripura. Following his recent meeting with Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, the speculation has gained momentum. However, some IPS officers claimed that Rastogi had come to Tripura primarily in connection with official BSF-related work. There is, as of now, no official announcement or confirmation that his meeting with the Chief Minister was specifically related to the DGP appointment. Before moving to Central deputation, Rastogi held important responsibilities in Tripura Police.
